Porto
Founded in 2008 by designer Ana Klerkx, and headquartered in San Francisco’s design district, Potrero Hill, Porto is a women’s luxury apparel brand that is locally designed and manufactured. Wonderful stretch fabrics are brought in from Italy, France and Japan and are tailored into effortless chic that take their customers from day to evening.
Raised in Berkeley, and trained in Italy, Ana works together with her design team to create looks that are packable, travel-friendly with an avant-garde design aesthetic. Erik Stultz, an expert patternmaker and Porto’s assistant designer has been working alongside Ana since the beginning. Husband and co-owner, Bart Klerkx originally met Ana at the Florence airport during a layover. The duo developed their love for European fashion during the 6 years they lived in Italy. Over the years, they have successfully launched several labels. Today, the Porto collection can be found at over 300 specialty boutiques throughout the United States.
philosophy
“made in san francisco, designed to travel the world”
Porto’s design team takes inspiration from the women who live outside traditional boundaries; modern individuals, free-thinkers, innovators and artists.
